Baby, It's Cold Outside

Welcome to Texas where one day it's 85 degrees and then that night it's snowing! Yep; yesterday my boys were running barefoot in shortsleeves and shorts outside, and this morning I bundled them all up in their PJ's and rain galoshes to stand in the small patch of snow in our front flower bed. Poor deprived Caleb was so impressed - he even said "this must be what it looks like at the North Pole!" (Did I mention this was a mere "patch" of snow (measuring about two feet in diameter with the grass still poking through?) So, as not to crush his sweet six year old heart, I said, "sweetheart, it just might look like this at the North Pole."

Okay, so maybe I'm not so good

So, evidently, I'm not so good with keeping up with the blog thing. Well, that's not exactly true. I'm very good at reading other's blogs. I'm just not very good at updating this one. I suppose I'm just not finding myself all that interesting.

On Sunday, I am running in a half-marathon. As of December of last year, I could not run one mile. Seriously. I don't know why in the world I decided I would do this, but there it is. Needless to say, I have been very anxious about it. I checked the weather, and it is supposed to be freezing that morning. I'm from Texas, always lived in Texas, and I've been training in Texas. South central Texas. Where it doesn't freeze. I don't own warm running clothes. (**sidenote: good excuse to go shopping)

So, know all of this, I have been praying. A lot. God has lead me to the most amazing verse in Psalms, and a pretty stinkin' awesome song too. My verse is "I lift my eyes unto the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1-2

He will lead me. He will help me. He will run the race with me.

Why not?

Welcome to our family webpage/blog/story, etc. I'm not promising anything, but I'm going to try my hand at this blogging thing. I mean, why not? After all, I have all this spare time on my hands to figure out something new. Anyway, we'll see how it goes...
